Match Report
Another good team display from the Vikings ended Centurians unbeaten record.
The game started with a chance for Matlock, the ball flashing across the face of goal. There weren’t many other chances in what was a tight first half apart from a great run and cross by Joe Turner to Zach Moss who could have scored, but his shot agonisingly came back off the post.
The Vikings battled hard for the whole match. Harry Griffin led the line superbly constantly chasing every single ball and was well backed up by James Tarr, Elliot Booth, Joe Turner and Alexander Hughes who all battled for every single ball. Defenders Jack Tomlinson, Tiernan McDonald, captain Lewis Gannon and goalkeeper Jackson Baker also played very well and kept the Centurians at bay by making tackle after tackle.
Just as the game was heading for a draw Joe Turner burst from midfield on another run down the right. His pin-point cross evaded the Centurians 'keeper and found Zach Moss who slotted the ball in the bottom corner to ensure the Vikings took all three points. It was a tremendous team effort from the Vikings with every single player outstanding throughout the whole game and showed they have the desire, belief and commitment to be a force within the league.
Team: Jackson Baker (GK), Lewis Gannon (Capt), Jack Tomlinson, James Tarr, Joe Turner, Zach Moss, Harry Griffin, Tiernan McDonald, Elliot Booth, Alexander Hughes.
