Match Report
The game started brightly for Buxton with 3 goals in the first two minutes. Matthew Etchells started things off direct from the kick off, with a neat run and finish. Zach Moss then added a second before a placed shot from Callum Holmes made it 3-0. After the whirlwind start the game settled down and Wirksworth came back into the game. However Elliot Booth and Lewis Gannon stopped Jackson Baker in goals having to do too much work. Later in the half Zach Moss grabbed his brace after good build up play from Callum Holmes and Alex Baggaley. He could have had a hat-trick after he forced an excellent point blank save from the Wirksworth 'keeper.
The second half saw the Vikings against the strong wind and Wirksworth looked to be making some headway but the new defence of Jack Tomlinson and debutant Callum Snook kept them at bay. It wasn’t long before the Vikings were back on top and Harry Griffin scored his first goal for Vikings after a Callum Holmes cross. Matthew Etchells rounded off the goals after another assist from Holmes. Lewis Gannon ran the length of the pitch beating four players but could not add to the score sheet. Towards the end Wirksworth broke clear but a brilliant last ditch tackle from Callum Snook meant a clean sheet and an excellent 6-0 win for Vikings.
